about

Kelsey is an independent journalist. She picked up video and writing skills while living in Mali in West Africa, working for a health organization. She has worked in international development and global health for the U.S. Agency of International Development (USAID) and its partners. She currently works in the Bay Area, California, while pursuing a double Master's in journalism and public health.

My graduate journalism thesis documentary is about a Tohono O'odham Native American man shot and killed by Border Patrol just miles from the U.S.-Mexico border. The film is about the legacy he left behind and how the presence of Border Patrol has impacted Indigenous communities and border towns.
